Paris Texas History: A Dated Timeline From the 2012 Monza Boutique to Arezzo, Cowboy Carter and Luxury Shoes

Paris Texas is eleven years old and most of its story has happened in the last four. It was founded in Milan in 2015 by two people who already ran a boutique together, grew on the strength of two shapes, sold a majority stake to a Brazilian footwear group in 2023, and was on the cover of the biggest album of 2024 the following spring. This is the dated timeline, each entry checked against the trade press article that reported it, with the sources listed at the foot of the page. Who is Paris Texas tells the story as prose; this page is the record.

  • March 2023: Arezzo and Co, the Brazilian group behind Arezzo, Schutz and Alexandre Birman, buys 65 percent for 25 million euros, its first acquisition outside Brazil; the founders keep 35 percent, and the Monza factory that makes the shoes comes with the deal (WWD, World Footwear, FashionNetwork).

2012 to 2015: the boutique before the brand

Brivio began as a fashion buyer for a multi-brand store in Milan, then joined Massimo Baltimora in the Baltimora Studio showroom. In 2012 the two opened Norrgatan, a luxury boutique in Monza, and it was the buying for that shop, WWD reported in 2023, that showed them the gap: fashion-led, well-made shoes at a price under the big Italian houses. In 2015 they founded Paris Texas to fill it, with Brivio designing and the company controlled through Baltimora Studio. The name was the design brief, Paris for the pointed pump and Texas for the cowboy boot, and Brivio has described it since as “the perfect fusion between two worlds”.

“Paris Texas is the perfect fusion between two worlds and this duality is expressed in the brand’s name itself, where Parisian chic sensuality meets the fearless audacity of Texan cowboys,” Annamaria Brivio told Footwear News in March 2024, adding that “for Paris Texas the Western style is an attitude and not a trend, it is part of our DNA.”

2015 to 2022: two shapes and a pink sole

The range that grew over those years is the one at Luxury Handbags now: the Texan boot on a covered Western heel, the Dallas, the Dakota and the El Dorado, and the Lidia pointed stiletto in every shape a stiletto can take, most of it on a leather sole lacquered in the pink the house calls Texas Rose. The shoes were made from the start at a medium-sized factory in Monza. By 2022 the brand was selling around 15 million euros a year, the figure WWD cited when the ownership changed. Every style explained sets out what each of those models became.

March 2023: Arezzo and Co

On 3 March 2023 WWD and Footwear News reported that Arezzo and Co, the Brazilian group whose brands include Arezzo, Schutz, Anacapri and Alexandre Birman, had taken a 65 percent stake in Paris Texas for 25 million euros, about 130 million Brazilian reais, its first acquisition outside Brazil. The structure, per World Footwear: Arezzo’s Italian unit took 26 percent through a 10 million euro capital increase and bought a further 39 percent from Baltimora Studio for 15 million euros, leaving the founders with 35 percent and running the company independently at least to the end of 2027, with an option for Arezzo to go to 100 percent. FashionNetwork reported that the Monza factory came with the deal and that a New York flagship and showroom were planned. Alexandre Birman, the group’s chief executive, gave the reason in one line.

“The business of luxury shoes is made in Italy. That’s the reality and that will always be the case,” Alexandre Birman, chief executive of Arezzo and Co, told WWD on 3 March 2023, explaining why the Brazilian group’s first acquisition outside Brazil was a Monza shoemaker.

November 2023: the Net-a-Porter capsule

The first collaboration under the new ownership was a co-branded holiday capsule with Net-a-Porter, unveiled on 16 November 2023: the Livia, a pointed pump with a jewelled buckle strap in midnight satin and croc-embossed black and red leather; the Liz, a strappy stiletto sandal; and a thin-strapped slingback in the same colours and a mirrored gold. It followed a pre-fall campaign with the musician Gabbriette. The slingback and pump guide covers the shapes that came out of it.

19 March 2024: the Cowboy Carter cover

Beyonce revealed the cover of Cowboy Carter on Instagram on 19 March 2024, side-saddle on a white horse in a white pair of Paris Texas boots. Footwear News identified them the same day as the Paloma mid-calf boot: 100 percent calf leather, Western-style panelling, a pointed toe and a 3 inch stiletto heel, listed at 795 US dollars on the brand’s site, and ran the interview with Brivio quoted above. The Paloma has since left the range; the Beyonce boots page explains which current Texans come closest.

April 2024: Nadia Lee Cohen

A month later, on 24 April 2024, Interview magazine covered the launch of a two-shoe capsule designed with the photographer and model Nadia Lee Cohen: a thigh-high boot and a mule, each in white, red, brown and black, launched at a party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles that Brivio attended. In a July 2024 profile in Harper’s Bazaar India, Brivio said the collaboration mattered because Cohen “is the true essence of what Paris Texas is. She is feminine, but also very hard and strong at the same”.

June 2025: the tour boots

For the second Houston show of the Cowboy Carter tour, on 28 June 2025, Paris Texas made Beyonce a custom pair: silver mirrored leather Texan boots, thigh-high, pointed toe, tiered crystal-covered fringe applied by Italian artisans and a 100 mm block heel covered in crystals, WWD reported on 30 June. It was one of several houses making custom boots for the tour; the Paris Texas pair was the homecoming one.

September 2026: Luxury Shoes

Luxury Handbags launched Paris Texas on 17 September 2026 with 316 styles, every in-stock style on the brand’s own site at the time, sized EU 35 to 42, from $1,060 to $3,080, with the Texan boots, the Lidia in every shape and the Stiletto, Bettina and Anja boots. The 2026 edit is the buying guide to that launch, and where to buy compares the other stockists.

What the timeline means for a buyer

Three things. The design has not changed hands: the woman who founded the label still draws it, and the two shapes it is known for are the two it started with. The factory has not changed either: the shoes are still made in Monza, now owned by the majority shareholder, which is a reason to expect the quality to hold. And the range is young enough that the models in stock today are the ones that will be searched for in five years, which is the argument for buying the black patent Lidia and the black suede Dallas rather than the seasonal colour. Is Paris Texas a luxury brand takes that argument further.
