Paris Texas Bettina Boots: The Flat Ankle, Knee and Over-the-Knee Boots, Ranked

The Bettina is the Paris Texas boot without the heel: a pointed toe on a 25 mm block, as an ankle boot with elastic side bands, a knee-high, an over-the-knee, and a 50 mm version with a little lift. It is the most-bought flat in the range and the boot the house makes for walking. Luxury Handbags carries 30 Bettina styles at $1,150 to $1,860. This guide covers the four shapes, the winter shearling version, the colours and the fit.

Bettina 25: the ankle boot

The Bettina 25 ankle boot is a Chelsea in the house’s language: a pointed toe, a 25 mm block, lateral elastic bands and no zip, so it pulls on and moves with the foot. It comes in black calf, Ebano, Cioccolato suede, Carbone croc-embossed and black stretch nappa, which is the softest boot the house makes. It is the pair for cropped trousers, a trench and a day of walking.

Bettina 50: a little lift

The Bettina 50 keeps the shape and adds a 50 mm chunky heel, which is enough to read as a heel under a trouser and not enough to change how you walk. Black suede, brushed leather and Tundra are the ones to look at, and the Winter Bettina lines the shaft in ivory shearling and is cut to be worn folded over.

Bettina knee and over-the-knee

The Bettina 25 knee boot is the flat knee-high, elastic side bands and a shaft of about 42 cm at a 37, in black calf, black suede, Ebano and Tundra. The over-the-knee takes the same last up the thigh. The Bettina Western puts the Texan stitching on the flat, for a cowboy boot without a heel. Against the Stiletto knee boot it is the same silhouette at walking height.

How to wear it

The Bettina 25 ankle boot is the boot for a cropped straight jean, a trench and a day on foot, and it sits under a wide trouser without a break in the line. The knee boot takes a midi skirt in winter, when a heel would be too much, and a slip dress in autumn with a long coat over it. The over-the-knee wants a short hem and nothing else Western in the outfit. In Tundra and Cioccolato the boot does the work of a colour; in black calf it disappears and lets the clothes speak. The styling guide covers the rest of the range.

Fit and care

True to size, and the elastic bands make the ankle boot the most forgiving fit the house sells. The knee boot fits at the calf. Calf wants a dry cloth and a cream; suede a spray and a brush; the shearling should never get wet. The size guide and the care guide have the detail.
