Mackage Adali vs Kay vs Trish: The Signature Collar Coats Compared

The Adali, the Kay and the Trish are the three Mackage down coats people ask about most. All three are fitted, all three have the Signature Collar and an asymmetric zip, and all three come with and without fur. The differences are length, warmth and shell. Here is how to choose between them. Shop them in the Mackage collection and our women’s coats.

Quick answer

  • Kay: three-quarter length, rated to minus 25C. The classic Mackage silhouette.
  • Adali: a longer fitted down coat, rated to minus 20C.
  • Trish: the warmest, rated to minus 30C, with a windproof Powder Touch shell.
  • Fit: all three are Mackage’s fitted cut, so consider the next size up.

The Kay

The Kay is a three-quarter fitted down coat with the Signature Collar, an asymmetric zip, an inner bib with a rib collar and storm cuffs. It is filled with recycled down and rated to minus 25C. It comes fur-free, as the Kay-NFR, and with fur on the collar, as the Kay-BX with blue fox and the Kay-F with natural fur.

The Adali

The Adali shares the Kay’s collar and zip but runs longer, so it covers more of the leg. It is made with recycled down and rated to minus 20C. Choose the Adali-SH for a sheepskin-trimmed collar, the Adali-X for silver fox, the Adali-BX for blue fox, and the Adali-F in Carbon.

The Trish

The Trish is the warmest of the three, rated to minus 30C. Its Powder Touch shell is windproof, water resistant and breathable, and the fitted body has the same Signature Collar. The Trish-X has silver fox on the collar and the Trish-BX has blue fox.

Which one should you buy?

For a first Mackage coat, the Kay is the safe choice: it is the shape the brand is known for and it handles most city winters. Choose the Adali if you want more length over trousers and dresses, and the Trish if your winters are properly cold and windy. If you want a hood you can remove, read our guide to Mackage hooded down coats.

Sizing

Mackage states the fit on every style. Its fitted coats run small and the brand itself recommends taking the next size up; regular and relaxed styles are cut for layering. See the Mackage size guide for the full picture.
