The Mary Katrantzou SS26 Edit: Six Prints, Decoded

Spring/Summer 2026 is the collection where Mary Katrantzou takes engineered print into summer cloth. Six print families, most of them drawn from things you would find on a table rather than in a garden: Venetian glass, gingham, napkin borders, fruit. Here is how the season breaks down and what to buy from each part of it.

Reticello, the Venetian glass story

The strongest idea in the collection. Reticello is a glassblowing technique that traps a fine lattice inside the glass, and Katrantzou has taken its curvature and let it fracture across the body in ribbons of colour. It comes in two colourways: Rainbow, which is exactly as bright as it sounds, and Primrose, which despite the name is a bold turquoise, yellow, red and black.

These are the jersey pieces, so they hold the body closely. The Emile Dress in Reticello Rainbow is the collection’s showpiece, a strapless midi with a structured corseted bodice. For length, the Burnelle Dress runs floor-length with real movement, and the Alexis Dress pleats into an ankle-length skirt with long sleeves.

Fruitavola, the tablescape

Botanical fruits and branches built in trompe l’oeil raffia against crisp linen, with rainbow borders layered from ombres of one hue. This is the summer wedding group.

The Lucia Dress is the full floor-length version. The Rosanna Dress gives you the same print on a fitted midi with a buttoned bodice, which is the easier one to wear twice.

Blanchetto, the quiet one

Hundreds of stitched borders lifted from napkins, tablecloths and runners, tessellated into scalloped stripes on a white ground. If the rest of the collection is too much, this is the entry point: it reads as a white dress from across a room and only resolves into pattern up close.

The Finley Dress in Blanchetto is a midi with thin straps and cut-outs at the waist.

Tutifruti and Fleur de Vichy, for the beach

Tutifruti Gingham overlays tropical flowers on folded candy ginghams in lemon, pistachio, candyfloss pink and damson. Fleur de Vichy pairs gingham with painterly florals in Blueberry and Cherry. Both run through swim, pareos and separates, so this is the resort half of the season.

The Sommerville Dress is the tiered floor-length option, and the Eyers Skirt works harder with a plain top than the photographs suggest.

The Lapin House capsule

In March 2026 Katrantzou took the same prints into childrenswear with the Greek house Lapin House, and the womenswear Mini Me styles from that capsule mirror the children’s silhouettes. The palette came from the four flower covered tables at her son’s christening on Spetses. The Finley Dress in Botanical Yellow and the Botanical Blue are the two to know.
