Fusalp Size Guide: French Sizes to UK, US and IT

How does Fusalp sizing work?

Fusalp uses its own numbered sizes for ski jackets, ski suits, ski pants, coats and most down jackets. These numbers sit one step above standard European sizing: a Fusalp 34 is a EUR 32 and a UK 6. Knitwear, base layers and some lighter jackets are cut in letter sizes instead, usually XS to XL, with a few styles running to XXL. Gloves and mittens come in glove sizes from 6.5 to 10.

Fusalp size chart: jackets, coats and tops

Fusalp’s own tops chart prints a single “UK/US” column, and those figures read as UK sizes. For US sizing we use the brand’s lower-body US column, which runs US 2 to 12 across the same range.

The US column shows the waist size first, then the dress size. Note that the international letters shift at the top of the range: a Fusalp 42 is an L in tops and an M/L in bottoms.

A handful of ski pants run beyond 44. In Luxury Shoes ’s listings the Elancia Ski Pants in Black go to UK 18, and the Diana Ski Pants in Black and the Tipi Ski Pants go to UK 20. Each product page shows the exact sizes available.

Does Fusalp run small?

Most Fusalp styles are true to size. The brand’s standard note says to take your usual size and, if you are between sizes, to take the larger one. The cut is what changes from style to style, and that matters more than the label. These are the four fit notes you will meet most:

• Close fit. Ski pants such as the Elancia and Diana are cut close to the leg. Take your usual size, and size up if you are between two.
• Fitted at the hips. The Clarisse Ski Suit in Navy and Black is fitted at the hips. Fusalp’s advice is to go one size up if you hesitate between two.
• Designed to be worn oversized. The Barsy Down Jacket in Black and the Melisan Down Jacket are cut generously. For a more regular fit, choose one size below your usual size.
• True to size. The Misha Coat in Black and the Kerin down jacket fit true to size. Take your usual size.

I’d size by the ski pants first. If the fuseau fits, the jacket almost always follows.

Garment measurements: what the numbers look like

Fusalp’s guide does not give body measurements in centimetres. Product pages give garment measurements per size instead. Two examples from our listings show how the grading works:

The Elancia waist grows by 4 cm a size. For reference, the model wearing the Elancia is 175 cm tall and wears a Fusalp 38 (UK 10). The model in the Barsy is 176 cm and wears the same size, in a style designed to be oversized.

Fusalp knitwear and base layer sizing

Sweaters, thermal layers and leggings are cut in letter sizes. The Andromede Sweater in Black and Snow runs XS to XL and is designed to sit close to the body. Thermal layers such as the Stellia Thermal Layer in Black run XS to XXL. The advice is the same: take your usual size, and take the larger one if you are between sizes, especially if the layer goes under a fitted ski suit. Fusalp glove size guide

Fusalp gloves and mittens use glove sizes measured in inches around the palm. Measure around the widest part of your hand, below the knuckles, and match the figure to the size.

• Peak Gloves in Black: sizes 6.5 to 10.
• Glacier Ski Mittens in Black: sizes 6.5 to 10.
• Glacier W Ski Gloves in Black: sizes 6.5 to 9.
