David Koma Pre-Fall 2026: The Supergirl Collection, Explained and Ranked
Pre-fall 2026 is the collection David Koma built around one film. Granted access to the DC archive, he took illustrations from the Supergirl comic books of the late 1950s and put them into the house wardrobe: big shoulders, geometric cut-outs, a red-and-blue palette beside the black, and a run of Supergirl logo pieces that are the cheapest things the label has made. It is the current full-price season at the brand and the newest at Luxury Shoes , where 68 pieces are in stock from $520 to $9,730, thirteen of them added this week. This edit explains the collection from WWD’s review and the designer’s own words, then ranks the pieces to buy.
Key facts
- Released as a lookbook in January 2026 on the model Yasmin Wijnaldum; WWD called it “Supergirl in Charge” and noted it was the first time Koma centred an entire collection on one pop-culture property, the June 2026 Supergirl film starring Milly Alcock.
- The Supergirl pieces: a crystal-embellished logo T-shirt, S-shield cut-out mohair knits with cropped waists, and ruched cut-out dresses in the character’s red and blue; the daywear is sharp tailoring with oversized shoulders and cinched waists; the evening pieces are gold and transparent grey, “structural and fluid”.
- At Luxury Shoes : 68 pre-fall 2026 pieces in stock, $520 to $9,730, median $4,070; the style codes begin PF26DK.
- Added on 18 September 2026: the Crystal Leaf Corset Gown In Blue, the Crystal Pendant Halter Midi Dress, the Crystal Stars Halter Gown, the Crystal Strap Detail Midi Dress, the Drape Overlay And Star Midi Dress, the Draped Open Back tops/long-sleeved/" class="cvx-al cvx-al--category">Long Sleeve Sequin Gown, the Midi skirts/leather-skirts/" class="cvx-al cvx-al--category">Leather Skirt, the Faux Fur Peplum Trim Gown, the Satin Midi Pencil Skirt and the Swirling Hem Mini Knit Cami Dress, plus three spring pieces.
- Made in the United Kingdom apart from the Turkish denim and the Chinese knits; every dress lined; the crystal declared as “100% Glass”.
“When I was thinking about the pre-fall, I had in mind all those incredible women that I worked with throughout the years, who are pure supers in their own rights,” David Koma told WWD in January 2026 of the pre-fall 2026 collection built around the Supergirl film, adding that the collaboration was “about channeling a specific, empowering narrative grounded in reality rather than fantasy.”
The collection in three parts
WWD’s review divides it cleanly. The daywear is tailoring, “sharp tailoring with oversized shoulders and cinched waists”, with sculptural puffers and faux-fur coats as “power play”; at Luxury Handbags that is the Structured Sleeve Tailored Jacket, the Double Pleated Tailored Trousers and the Tailored Bodysuit. The evening pieces are gold and transparent grey, structural and fluid at once, “armor-like second skins”: the Draped Open Back Long Sleeve Sequin Gown, the Gathered Jersey Gown, the Sequin Gown With Faux Fur Hem. And the Supergirl pieces provide, in WWD’s phrase, “the right amount of kitsch”: the Supergirl X David Koma Rhinestone T-shirt, the Supergirl X David Koma Crystal Logo Mini Dress and the ruched cut-out dresses in red and blue, the Ruched Cami Mini Dress With Crystal Stars and the Crystal Star And Straps Mini Dress.

How to wear it
The pre-fall shoulder is the thing to respect. A structured Koma shoulder wants a narrow hem below it, so the Structured Sleeve Tailored Jacket goes over the Tapered Tailored Trousers rather than a wide leg, and the Structured Sleeve Midi Dress needs no jacket at all. The red and blue pieces are meant to be worn as a single block of colour with black accessories; two Supergirl colours together tips into costume. How to wear David Koma has the rest.
