The LaQuan Smith Spring Summer 2026 Edit

Spring Summer 2026 is a collection in three parts: the tailoring, the second-skin jersey, and the eveningwear prints. They are meant to be worn against each other, and the collection makes more sense once you see how the pieces stack.

The champagne pinstripe suiting

The quiet half of the collection, and the part that will get the most wear. A tonal cream pinstripe runs through a double breasted jacket, a high rise wide leg trouser with deep pleating, a waistcoat with a satin back panel and an adjustable buckle, and a pleated boyshort.

The stripe is tonal rather than contrast, so from any distance it reads as a soft neutral. That is what makes it wearable in daylight. Buy the jacket and trouser together if you want one thing from this collection that works beyond evening.

The second-skin jersey

The house signature, and the reason to buy the label. Bodysuits in nude, black and chocolate, cut with mock necks and front zips, with capris to match in nude, black and chocolate. The seams do the shaping.

Two pieces stand out. The taupe bodysuit with copper flatlock stitching turns the construction into the decoration, tracing every seam in a contrast thread. The navy catsuit with symmetric waist cutouts is the collection’s clearest statement of what the house does.

Two more work the same jersey in a different register. The nude zip front jacket is jersey cut like tailoring, with a stand collar, seamed bust panels and a hem that sits high enough to wear over the matching capri. The chocolate mock neck jumpsuit runs sheer mesh the length of the leg, so the solid panels do the covering.

Leather and suede

Heavier, and priced accordingly. The hand-knotted black leather midi skirt is the most technically ambitious piece in the collection, an openwork diamond lattice held rigid by solid bands at the waist and hem. The chocolate leather cargo trouser softens a hard shape with a ruffled drawstring waist, and the caramel suede trouser laces the full length of both side seams so you set the fit yourself.

There is also a chocolate leather bustier with contoured boning and an exposed gold-tone back zip, which is the easiest way into the leather without committing to a trouser.

The eveningwear prints

Two run through the season. The sunset ombre is a red to orange gradient used on a floor sweeping caftan with batwing sleeves, a draped dual cowl dress, and a maxi skirt gathered at a gold hinge. The amber python is the sharper of the two, on a pleated midi skirt, an oversized sheer shirt and a fitted blouse with split flared cuffs.

Both prints carry a look on their own. Pair either with a plain bodysuit and stop.

The sheer chiffon blouse, in three colourways

One gathered high neck blouse with voluminous sleeves and a long neck tie, cut in rose pink, aqua and marigold. The tie is long enough to knot, drape, and leave loose. Of the three, the aqua is the one to buy if you want it to read as eveningwear.

The marigold asymmetrical top is the dressier piece in the same chiffon family. One shoulder, pleated, spilling into ruffles and a side train that skims the floor. It is a top that behaves like a gown from the waist down.

The one showpiece

The silver sequin blazer is the collection’s outlier: sharp shoulders, a nipped waist and a peplum hem, worked in allover sequins. It is a whole outfit with a capri underneath.

Practical notes
