The fear is always the same: that a strong floral, even a clash of colour, will wear you instead of the other way around. It will not, if you give it a little structure. Here is how I style the label’s prints so they read confident rather than costume.

Let one print lead

Start with a single hero piece and build the rest of the look around it. A printed maxi dress wants quiet shoes and bare jewellery so the pattern has room to breathe. When the dress is doing the talking, your job is to stay out of its way.

The same rule works in reverse. If the top half is loud, like a floral lace peplum top, keep the bottom half plain with a tailored trouser in a colour pulled straight from the print.

Pull a colour from the print to anchor it

Every Essentiel Antwerp print contains a base colour you can match to. Find the deepest shade in the pattern and echo it in your shoe, bag, and belt. A black ground in the floral means black accessories, and suddenly the busiest print looks deliberate. This one trick does more than any styling rule I know.

Clash on purpose, not by accident

The label loves a clash, and you can too, as long as the two prints share a colour. A striped knit over a floral skirt works when both carry the same red. The shared tone tells the eye it was planned. Keep the scales different, one large pattern against one small, so they sit together instead of fighting.

Break the prettiness with something tougher
