How to tie a Zimmermann silk square

Start every method the same way: lay the square flat, fold it corner to corner into a triangle, then fold from the long edge in bands about 4cm wide until a long, flat strip remains.

• Neck knot. With a 70cm square, wrap the band once around the neck and tie a small double knot at the side, then turn the ends so they point down.
• Headband. With a 90cm square, place the middle of the band at the hairline and tie it under the hair at the nape.
• Headscarf. With a 90cm square left as a triangle, cover the hair with the long edge at the forehead and knot the two ends under the chin, then push it back slightly.
• Bag handle. Wrap the band around a Goldentime handle from one end to the other and finish with a bow. The neck scarf and ribbon scarf work here too.
• Wrap. Fold the Maxi Square into a triangle and tie the two side corners on one hip over swimwear, with the point falling down the leg.
