The Attico collaborations: Eres, Air Jordan, Linda Farrow, Re/Done, Sant Ambroeus and the pop-ups
The Attico collaborations: Eres, Air Jordan, Linda Farrow, Re/Done, Sant Ambroeus and the pop-ups
The Attico has collaborated sparingly and chosen partners that map onto its own categories: a swim house for its first beachwear, a sneaker for the tomboy half of the wardrobe, an eyewear maker for the sunglasses, a denim label for the jeans and a Milan restaurant for the brand’s home city. The record below is dated and sourced, because “The Attico x” is one of the most searched phrases around the brand and most of what comes up is undated. Where a collaboration produced a category the brand still makes, we point to the current pieces at Luxury Shoes .
Key facts
- Eres x The Attico, July 2019: a swimwear capsule with the French swim house, reported by Vogue France; the root of the Il primo bagno swim line.
- Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid Milan, February 2020: a special pack launched by The Attico, reported by ZOE Magazine.
- Linda Farrow: the eyewear collaboration behind The Attico sunglasses, including the Berta and Mini Marfa frames people search for; eyewear is a brand category, not stocked at Luxury Shoes .
- Re/Done: a denim collaboration with the Los Angeles label; The Attico’s own jeans line now covers the category.
- Sant Ambroeus: a partnership with the Milan restaurant, listed by Wikipedia among the brand’s collaborations.
- Pop-ups: Harrods, Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman, La Rinascente, The Webster, Beymen, Level Shoes, a December 2021 accessories series, Wooster Street in New York in September 2022, and in 2023 Antonia, Antonioli Ibiza, Galeries Lafayette, Saks, Harvey Nichols Dubai and Space Mue Seoul.
Eres, 2019: where the swim line comes from
The Eres capsule of July 2019 put The Attico’s prints and cuts on the French house’s swim construction, and it is the clearest ancestor of what the brand now sells under Il primo bagno. The current line at Luxury Handbags runs 17 pieces, $570 to $2,470, all made in Italy in 82 percent polyamide and 18 percent elastane, with the Scoop neckline and high-cut leg that the Yellow bikini shows. The swimwear guide ranks them.
Air Jordan, 2020: the tomboy half made official
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Milan pack of February 2020 was a sneaker release, so nothing from it is stocked here, but it named the side of the brand that the cargo pants, the bombers and the sweatshirts belong to. The Fern cargo, the bombers and the sweatshirts and joggers are the current expression of it, from $720.
Linda Farrow and Re/Done: eyewear and denim
The Linda Farrow partnership produced the sunglasses the brand still sells, including the Berta and the Mini Marfa, which is why those names appear in searches; eyewear is an accessories category and Luxury Handbags does not carry it. Re/Done was a denim collaboration with the Los Angeles label, and the brand’s own jeans have since become a category in their own right: 9 denim pieces at Luxury Shoes , $880 to $1,680, all pure cotton and made in Italy. The jeans guide covers them.
Sant Ambroeus and Superhouse: Milan and design
The Sant Ambroeus partnership tied the brand to a Milan institution, and the Superhouse exhibition during the 2022 Salone del Mobile, covered by Elle Decor Italia, showed the founders’ interest in design, which Vogue noted at the launch in 2016 when Ambrosio spoke of expanding into furniture and jewellery.
The pop-up programme
Pop-ups have been the brand’s retail strategy in place of stores. The chief executive told WWD in December 2023 that they are “nimbler and more efficient initiatives than macro-investments for permanent retail locations”, and listed the year’s partners: Antonia in Milan, The Webster Los Angeles, Antonioli in Ibiza, Galeries Lafayette, Saks and Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Harvey Nichols Dubai and Space Mue in Seoul. Earlier waves covered Selfridges, La Rinascente, Beymen, Level Shoes, a December 2021 accessories series and the first New York pop-up on Wooster Street in September 2022. The where to buy page explains how Luxury Handbags fits alongside those channels.
“The Attico is a brand rooted in Milan but looking towards the future in a modern, international way, as much as the city itself is doing,” chief executive Stefano Marcovaldi told WWD in December 2023.
