About Isabel Marant
Isabel Marant is a French fashion house founded in Paris in 1994 by the designer Isabel Marant, who trained at the Studio Berçot fashion school and showed her first collection at Paris Fashion Week in 1995. Her style mixes Parisian ease with a bohemian, slightly rock edge: slouchy boots, fringed suede, washed denim and the hidden-wedge sneaker that became one of the most copied shoes of its decade. The house opened its first boutique on rue de Charonne in 1998 and launched Isabel Marant Étoile, its more relaxed line, in 1999. Its best-known pieces include the Bekett and Bobby hidden-wedge sneakers, Western boots such as the Dicker and the Duerto, and the Oskan Moon bag. Today it makes ready-to-wear, shoes, bags, jewellery and accessories, all designed in Paris.
“What I like about the Siloki Socks is how little they ask of you. Put them on and the outfit is mostly done.”
Gemma Deeks, Fashion Editor at Luxury Shoes
How Isabel Marant Compares
Shoppers looking at Isabel Marant often also consider
Ulla Johnson,
Zimmermann and
Ganni.
Ulla Johnson shares the bohemian mood with a softer, New York finish. Zimmermann is more romantic and print-led, and Ganni is playful Copenhagen dressing. Isabel Marant is the most Parisian of the four, built on worn-in denim, Western boots and easy silk.
