Thirty one belts, from $940 to $2,380. The core styles are the Marlene in cognac, chocolate and black leather, the Maireed in snakeskin and leather, the Lozewce in suede, and a rope braided belt in nappa. The hardware follows the bags: brass, finished in rose gold, with no exterior branding.

A belt is the cheapest way into this house, and because Gabriela Hearst cuts a tonal column better than almost anyone, a leather belt in a contrasting shade is the accessory the clothes were designed around.

Scarves and wraps

Twenty one pieces, from $810 to $17,740. The range splits in two.

The knitted scarves are the ones to know. The Solus, Eunoia and Blaine are brushed silk cashmere in camel, plum, chocolate and ivory, and several of the cashmere wraps are hand knitted by Manos del Uruguay, the women’s cooperative Hearst has worked with since the label began. These sit at the accessible end.

The fur scarves, including the Maccabee in recycled mink, are at the top of the range. They are finishing pieces for a coat rather than everyday warmth.

Coat collars

Nine pieces, $5,250 to $8,480, and the most unusual thing in the collection. The Elliot and Demeter collars are separate shearling and fur pieces in recycled beaver, recycled mink, arctic fox and shearling, made to sit on a coat you already own. Shades run from black and brown through champagne and mocha to red and light blue.

This is a genuinely useful idea. One good wool coat and two collars is three coats, and it is a fraction of the cost of a fur outer.

Small leather goods

Fifteen pieces from $1,940 to $3,030. The range is mostly sunglasses pouches in calf suede, deer leather and snakeskin, plus phone pouches in nappa. They are made in Italy in the same leathers as the bags, and they are the pieces most likely to be bought as a gift.

Hats, gloves and knitted socks

Seven hats from $930 to $5,910. The Spire and Porta knit beanies in silk and specked aran cashmere are the everyday pieces. The Karina is the statement: textured leather with recycled arctic fox and beaver fur, at the top of the band.

Two pairs of shearling gloves, the Eglantina, in mocha and black at $1,560 and $2,020.

Seven pairs of knitted socks in cashmere and silk, $910 to $1,350, in the Stela, Brio and Anima styles. They are an odd product at that price and a very good one in practice.

Jewellery

Six ceramic necklaces, the Nugget and the Disk, in ivory, bordeaux and black. Ceramic is an unusual material for a fashion house to work in, and the pieces read as sculptural rather than decorative. They are designed to be worn alone on a clean neckline.

How to use them

Gabriela Hearst dresses in tonal columns, so the accessories are built to break one. A cognac belt against ivory knitwear. A shearling collar against a charcoal coat. A ceramic necklace against a black dress and nothing else. Pick one accent and stop there. Layering three of these against each other undoes the point of the clothes.
