N.Peal in brief
Nat Peal opened a men's haberdashery in the Burlington Arcade in March 1936 and made cashmere his principal fibre after the Second World War. Since 2007 the house has been owned by Adam Holdsworth, a Yorkshire cashmere manufacturer, with its head office in Beamsley, North Yorkshire, and production in Mongolia and China. Daniel Craig wore a lapis blue N.Peal sweater in Skyfall, and N.Peal made custom pieces for Spectre and No Time to Die. Read whether N.Peal is a luxury brand and the James Bond story.
The editor's guide to buying N.Peal
Start with a fine roll neck in black, navy and ivory, the most useful layer in a winter wardrobe. Add a cropped cardigan for high-waisted trousers and one heavy cable knit for real cold. Then choose a statement: a fur-trimmed cape, a honeycomb lounge set and a long double-face cardigan. Our guides to the best cashmere jumpers, N.Peal cardigans and Autumn Winter 2026 go through it piece by piece.

N.Peal sizing
N.Peal sizes women's knitwear in letters, and each letter covers a span of UK sizes. Classic knits are true to size; the superfine cashmere and silk range is cut closer, so size up there for a looser drape. Woven outerwear takes one UK size per letter, from a UK 8 in XS to a UK 14 in L. Full measurements are in the N.Peal size guide.
| N.Peal | UK | US | EU |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 6 | 2 | 34 |
| S | 8 to 10 | 4 to 6 | 36 to 38 |
| M | 10 to 12 | 6 to 8 | 38 to 40 |
| L | 12 to 14 | 8 to 10 | 40 to 42 |
| XL | 14 to 16 | 10 to 12 | 42 to 44 |
Caring for N.Peal cashmere
Most N.Peal knitwear is hand wash: cool water, a gentle wool wash, no wringing and dry flat. Coats, capes with fur and double-face pieces are dry clean only. Fold cashmere, never hang it, and comb away early pills. See how to wash cashmere and why cashmere pills.
