Brandon Maxwell Fall Winter 2026: The Collection, Piece by Piece
Brandon Maxwell presented Fall Winter 2026 without a runway. Instead of a show at New York Fashion Week, the designer released the collection as a film made with his longtime collaborator Jessy Price. The clothes themselves are some of his most focused in years: black velvet columns, croc embossed leather outerwear, a static effect jacquard knitted in Italy, sharp white shirting and a full set of Italian made bags.

The palette
Black dominates, as it often does for Maxwell, but it is broken by three accents: a bright green that appears as embroidery and sequins, a deep red in the knitwear and florals, and warm browns, from truffle and ganache to malt suede. Ivory and white carry the shirting and the Petra and Haze pieces. Silver arrives once, in sequins, on the Bex Gown.
Eveningwear
The evening pieces share a column silhouette and one sculptural detail each. The Farren Dress is plush bonded velvet with an asymmetric sculpted collar. The Bex Gown comes in silver sequins and in black with green embroidery. The Petra Gown drapes ivory double crepe under a black sequin neckline, and the Haze Top takes the same idea into a sleeveless top. For a shorter look, the Sable Mini Dress adds a long mantle at the back of a velvet A line.
Prints and pleats
The most technical fabric of the season is a controlled pleat satin woven in Italy, with the pleats built into the cloth and the print laid over them so colour moves across each fold. It appears on the Karina one shoulder dress in blue floral, on the Fiora Draped Dress and on the Sinclair pleated pencil skirt in black and white. Stretch mikado florals cover the Joelle Mini Dress and the Lex Pencil Skirt.
Outerwear and tailoring
The Trinity Coat is a knee length wrap in croc embossed lamb leather, belted, with a wide folded collar. The Sabrina Coat is its opposite: a cocoon of frayed fil coupe with a fringed surface. The Remi Jacket is cropped black lamb leather, also offered in a truffle wool and cashmere, and the Alora Jacket is fitted bonded velvet with pointed panels at the hem. Shirting and knitwear
Maxwell’s white shirts are a quiet signature. This season brings the Inez Tuxedo Shirt, pintucked with an attached neck scarf, and the Ceci button down. The knitwear is led by a custom Italian jacquard of viscose and boucle wool with a static effect, made into the cropped Aubrey Cardigan and the strapless Demi Bandeau Top, both in green and red. Softer options are the Lowen Cardigan in cashmere and silk, the Joanna Fair Isle sweater and the Keaton quarter zip.
Bags and jewellery
The season gives the house leather goods real space: new croc and calf hair versions of the Vance Weekender join the Maxwell frame bag and the Louise Pochette, all made in Italy. Fall 2026 feels like a distillation of that decade: the draped eveningwear he built his name on, the leather and shirting of recent seasons, and a stronger accessories offer than ever. Presenting it as a film instead of a runway show puts the focus on the clothes on a body, which suits a designer who works by draping.
