Effie Kats is the Melbourne evening-wear house with a tailor’s hand. Designer Effie Kats grew up in her family’s workroom in the city’s north, launched Zachary the Label at 23, and started again under her own name in April 2018 with made-to-measure suits and gowns. The ready-to-wear that followed keeps that fitting-room logic: gowns, bodysuits, capes and skirts cut close to the body in a signature stretch crepe, with square necklines, cinched waists, open backs and very little decoration. Luxury Handbags carries the current collection, sized XS to XL, which reads as AU and UK 6 to 14, and ships it worldwide.
