Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen is British fashion at its most exacting. Lee Alexander McQueen apprenticed on Savile Row at Anderson & Sheppard and Gieves & Hawkes, took his MA at Central Saint Martins, and founded his house in London in 1992. The codes he set remain the point: the peak shoulder, the corset line, the bumster waist and the skull, all cut with a tailor’s hand. The house joined the Kering group in 2001, Sarah Burton carried it for thirteen years, and since late 2023 creative director Seán McGirr has been sharpening the same codes for a new decade.
